What is a company seal?
A company seal, also known as a common seal, is an embossing machine. Plates are engraved with your company name or information and then pressed onto documents to leave a stylish raised impression on the paper. It acts as a mark of personal mark, of you or your business, to authenticate documents in a tamper-proof way.
Do I need a company seal?
In the UK, businesses are no longer required to use a company seal but many still choose to do so for the look or to make an impression. They're a quick and legally recognised means of authenticating deeds and are most commonly used when issuing share certificates or to stamp an address onto envelopes and documents using our rectangular embossing stamps.
In the Republic of Ireland (RoI), a company seal or embossing stamp is a legal requirement for all businesses.
I want a logo on a seal. Is that possible?
Yes. We've been engraving seals for over 40-years and can re-produce any image to create a personalised embossing press. Use the button below or click here, to send us a message about your custom designed company seal or custom designed notary seal. You can use our contact form to upload an image and we'll call you back with a cost and estimated turnaround time.
Why do you engrave onto metal?
We think plastic embossers leave an inferior impression and so do our customers, many of whom who come to us after previously buying a plastic seal. Our metal embossing stamps leave a deep, crisp impression and come with a two-year guarantee. Metal company seals can be recycled and are better for the environment.
What do I do with an antique embosser?
Because we machine all of our embossing stamps in our UK workshop, we can easily create custom embossing dies for an antique embosser. Or if you no longer need the embosser, we can recycle it on your behalf. Click here to contact us about our secure seal destruction service.
How do I get rid of a broken embosser?
Many people call us asking how to dispose of metal notary seals. We offer a secure seal destruction service that will recycle your seal in an environmentally friendly way. Click here to contact us and find out more about how to dispose of an old corporate seal with us.
I need an embosser fast. How long will I have to wait?
If you live in the UK or Republic of Ireland and order one of our standard embossing stamps before 10am we can have it shipped the same day and in your hands within 24-hours when you choose expedited delivery at checkout. If you want a custom embossing press, send us a message or call us and we'll give you a more accurate turnaround time.
